Vaqueros
Welcome to Vaqueros, a hidden gem nestled in Northlake, IL, where authentic Mexican cuisine and hospitality come together to create an unforgettable dining experience. Located at 107 Grand Ave, this vibrant restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. When you step inside, the enticing aromas and lively decor draw you into a culinary adventure that celebrates the rich flavors of Mexico.
What sets Vaqueros apart are its tantalizing dishes that showcase a perfect blend of traditional recipes and fresh ingredients. Seafood lovers will be delighted by the mariscos selection, featuring dishes like Camarones Al Chipotle—plump shrimp bathed in a smoky chipotle sauce accompanied by cheese anejo and beans for only US$13.99. Another must-try is the Camarones a la Veracruzana, where succulent shrimp swim in a sweet red sauce, simmered to perfection.
For those who enjoy a hearty feast, the Parrilladas are a highlight. Indulge in the Parrillada de Mixta, a generous medley of grilled meats and seafood that includes chicken, steak, shrimp, octopus, and more. Or opt for the seafood lovers' dream, the Parrillada de Mariscos, bursting with shrimp, clams, crabs, and fish, all perfectly grilled to enhance their natural flavors.
- Ceviche options: The Camarón Ceviche and Pescado Ceviche are both served fresh, marinated in lime, making for a refreshing starter for any meal, each priced at US$12.99.
- Keep the locals coming back: As one customer, Chris Ee Ting Wong, points out, "You know it's good when the locals go there too!"—a testament to Vaqueros' authenticity and quality.
- Outstanding service: Many patrons, including Maribel Muniz, rave about the exemplary service that complements the delicious food perfectly, making every visit feel personal and special.
The reviews speak volumes. Diners like Adam Carrillo commend the surprisingly low prices amidst rising costs, emphasizing the value for money without compromising quality. Conner House’s experience of delightful beef with cactus proves that the kitchen is willing to take delicious risks that pay off handsomely. Meanwhile, regulars like Dan B find their favorite taco right here, particularly the goat meat taco, which promises tender perfection.
So, whether you’re on a casual family outing or a special celebration, Vaqueros invites you to savor authentic Mexican cuisine that feels like a warm embrace. With the vibrant atmosphere, extensive menu, and flavorful dishes, this restaurant is bound to become a frequent stop on your culinary journey in the Chicago area.
As I take my leave from this delightful establishment, I can't help but look forward to my next visit. After all, as one satisfied customer aptly put it, “Every plate is carefully prepared to impress your taste buds.” I wholeheartedly echo that sentiment. Good food. Good price. The staff was surprised I wanted the beef with cactus, but promised it would be tasty. It was! Full selection of Jarritos available is always a plus. The home fried chips were hot and the salsa appropriately spicy. It was more food than I needed for a lunch but not overbearing. Will be back!

This has got to be the only Mexican food restaurant that offers a variety of the most tasty and Delicious seafood dishes among other dishes that are very delicious at the very lowest pricese I have ever experienced since before all the price goutching prices went up. they either missed the part where the entire countries cost of living went up a purse and wallet hurting 30% increase. or they simply figured that price foitching is illegal and remained honest. with their respected clientel. Every plate is carefully prepared and served appropriately to satisfy and impress your taste buds. I highly recommend this place you will not b disappointed. and every time Im in Chicago I am going to make the best out of my trip by stopping there. I speak the truth Adam Carrillo
